Study God’s Word.

This is a list of resources that we recommend for on-line study of God’s Word. More to be added in the future, including book recommendations. (Disclaimer: we are not affiliated with any sites that are linked below. Nor do we receive any contributions from them to post these materials.)

As firm believers in the authority of the scriptures we must stress how important it is for us as Christians to study/read our bible. We love the bible. We love the Bible because it is God’s book in which he reveals himself to us. It is a gift to us, so that we may know Him. But, the Bible today is seldom read, applied, or interpreted theologically. To make matters worse, many churches are not modeling or teaching their people how to read, interpret, and apply the Bible on their own. The average lay person knows nothing of hermeneutics, exegesis, and eisegesis from their church leaders. And on that note, most church leaders do not know anything about them either.

Part of our mission here at EOM is to help you learn more about God’s Word AND how to study The Word. So here we have some resources to help guide you in that direction.

Ransom Bible Study Method

The RANSOM Bible Study Method is a simple six-step process reflected in the word RANSOM that functions as an acrostic, where each letter of the word stands for an action to take as you read the Scripture. Confessions of Faith

creed.jpg

While we hold to the Bible being the ultimate authority when it comes to doctrine we use historical confessions and creeds as tools to guide us through the scriptures. Creeds & Confessions help us to continue to stand on a solid biblical foundation, which, though offensive to the secular world, is the place where we find intellectual coherence of truth in the context of Word and Spirit, which is life-giving and transforming for all of thought and culture.

Confessions like The 1689 and The Westminster Confession hold to sound doctrinal teachings and are great tools to add to your arsenal, https://www.the1689confession.com/, https://www.ligonier.org/learn/articles/westminster-confession-faith/. But if you are not of the Baptist or Presbyterian faith, then know every denomination has a confession or treatise that they adhere too.

Reformed Standards is a great site to visit to see other great confessions of faith and catechism that came out of the protestant reformation along with documents and other helpful resources. https://reformedstandards.com/
